And weddings have been the biggest event to plan for me.
The big, the luxurious, small Intimate Weddings, all budget ranges and places.I help people to fulfill their wedding dreams and that's my passion.I started very small and local. And I learned a lot about the practicalities around it. And how to set a time plan, budgets, what paper needed to be in place. Then the fun part for me is to actually create the wedding. And I built up a customer base.At that time,
I didn't have a clue about affiliate marketing.2020 when Covid entered our lives and there were lockdowns and restrictions. Weddings weren't on demand. And I had to find another income online.
Affiliate marketing was the thing who got my attention. I started to try to learn everything I could but all the terms and technically I read and heard was like someone talked Greek to me. (I don't know a word Greek
)But it seemed easy to do, and I was looking for an easy way to make money online for a beginner.
I gave up after some weeks and started over and tried to have another mindset to it and knew I really needed a course to learn this.
I bought 2 courses in about a month. There was still no money raining in on my bank account. MY LINKTREE Give up or start over?I started over, made a plan and asked myself some important questions.- What niche should I go for?
- How are my potential customers?
- How should I promote the products?
- What help do I need to set it up?
- How much can I afford to pay?
My niche I was choosing was kitchen gadgets and baking products.Everything from bake machines to baking sheets. Recipes books and everything needed for baking. And since almost the whole world was at home at this time that was a great niche to start with.I bought a system to set up a store and website.I did have an IG and used FB to promote my store and products. I created a Canva,
and it did work. But it took time,
and the commission was low compared to the work I had to put into it.I started to look over how I could do affiliate marketing with my wedding planning. All I knew was I didn't want to go on social media or build a website. I wanted it to still be like my original way to reach out to potential clients.So, I started to look for products and brands who could be useful. I was a little bit over the place in my searching. 
My original business method was..
to send out a presentation of me and what I do and how.
And what services I offered and some price plans.
I had a portfolio with my work I had done, with photos and reviews and some references.
And what companies and brands I worked with.
My clients were Restaurants, event venues, and other places known for having weddings, hotels, B&B etc.
This is where I knew how to implement affiliate marketing.
I started to look for systems who could make my email list building easier.
And I also needed more personal presentations and portfolios, suited for the different brands.
I started to look for affiliate programs for different brands and products I was familiar with.
And I could expand my services with products related to weddings.
From bridesmaid's gifts to wedding jewels, table settings and flowers.
Clothes and much more.
Started to sign up to different affiliate programs and applied.
I did buy a course and a system which had what I needed to promote the products and services.
And had landing pages I could use for the different brands, and I also got traffic in my chosen niches.
And the most important was the email list builder.
No more chasing followers, likes and shares on social media.
Or try to do amazing Canva creations to sell my baking products.
I created and updated my portfolio once a month.
And I started to write about "my brands and products".
I was promoted my products and services in different formats such as pdfs, short eBooks and presentations.
Collected images and it was fun in the beginning to create nice looking covers etc.
But it was time consuming, and it was a lot of work.
So, there was the system who actually could do the most for me.
Editing and helping me
write in a catching professional way.I tried different methods and systems and some better, some useless and some really good.
And I kept doing all the writing and creating by myself and no system, for a year.
I had a well-formed plan for a month at a time.
My business was growing, people started to get married again, I found new products and services to promote.
My email list was growing.
I did find systems that are a great help to write and make my presentations, eBooks, pdfs look professional.
Yes, I still do write and create some things just because I think it's fun and I want to give my presentations, eBooks, and pdfs a personal touch.
Why I started a blog.
I know many struggling to get the economy working and looking for ways to make money online, but I have also seen a lot of tips on how to do and what to do to make a huge amount of money in an easy and short time. I called those tips “too good to be true”.
And I see how they tell how to do different methods, often not full tutorial's, there are links to sites who doesn't work, or they promote one thing, but the links are going to a totally different site.
If I am looking for ex. cat food and click on a promotion of cat food and end up on a site about dog food, it's not doing it for me.
Yes, I think you got what I mean.
And for clarify- This isn't a blog to promote my wedding planning business.
This is a blog how to succeed in building your own business, working from home and online.
If it is a side hustle or a full income source.
In affiliate marketing or in freelance writing, making presentations, pdfs or eBooks.
If you are promoting a course, service, writing articles or reviews or eBooks.
